johanna mason cared too fucking much. it was always bound to get her into trouble, but the hardships of her life didn't matter-- she was going to live, and it was going to be a good and full life at that.she managed to make it to her last year before she was chosen as victor for the 71st hunger games as the female tribute. johanna came face-to-face with the true worst of it all when she boarded the train to the capitol. the horrors to her weren't in the games themselves-- they were in the capitol's residents, who were more than happy to watch her and twenty-three other children try to kill each other.johanna tries not to think about her games. she won-- isn't that the only thing that matters? it's all that mattered to the capitol. she came home and held her family close, and counted her blessings knowing that it was all over.

...except it wasn't. (tw: sexual assault, sex trafficking) when johanna went on her victory tour, it became clear that she wasn't really out of danger after all. she was pretty to look at, and as a victor, she was also valuable. johanna saw more that kept her up at night on her tour and during her time in the capitol than she did in her games.she rebelled against her treatment alongside other desirable victors, and was met with swift revenge. when the time came for the 72nd hunger games, her younger siblings were chosen as the tributes for their district. johanna was forced to be their mentor and prepare them for the horrors they were about to face. just like her, they entered the arena ready to fight for their lives. they were both killed on the first day by a career, not even standing a chance. grief turned to anger, and johanna knew she would never have peace until the capitol burned.

annabeth grew up in richmond, virginia. her father married helene newton, a normal mortal, when annabeth was five, and the pressure from her stepmother as well as her struggles with being a demigod led her to run away when she was seven. eventually, annabeth joined up with thalia and luke. they were able to make their way to camp half-blood-- to safety-- but thalia sacrificed herself to make sure annabeth made it over the border.
annabeth is claimed as a child of athena, and becomes head counselor of athena's cabin when she was ten. when she was twelve, percy jackson came to chb. the two of them went on a quest together, and annabeth's fate became intertwined with percy's. they fought side-by-side during the titan's war.
they got a few moments of peace before percy went missing. annabeth was eventually able to track him down, and became one of seven in the prophecy that brought about the second giant's war.
percy and annabeth fell into tartarus, and were trapped there until finally they were able to free

themselves. they fight alongside their parents in the war, and finally achieve victory.annabeth goes to new rome for university, but barely makes it a year into her education before she drops out. discontent, she returns to chb to try and reorient herself. she cuts herself off from the gods, takes ownership of a plot of land by chb, and gets to work doing what she knows-- she builds.
it starts as a solo project, but eventually, others begin helping annabeth. the nymphs living in chb and some other demigods, as well as the cyclopes begin working with annabeth, and work increases.
during this time, she met the norse demigod cenric mathison. they briefly dated, and annabeth's son was conceived during this time. cenric was not involved in her life after an amicable breakup, and annabeth raised her son luca thalein chase on her own.
after years of work, new athens was finally complete-- a beautiful city of marble where the greeks can live in peace. it takes eight years to finish, and once it's done, annabeth takes over as its leader, and runs new athens.

NEW ATHENS. 21-30 yrs old. leader of new athens. this is a continuation of the pjo verse. annabeth decided after the events of the hoo series that she couldn't stand to be away from chb in new rome, and returned to chb. thinking the greeks deserve something like new rome, she constructs new athens. ten years later, new athens is a thriving metropolis.

HADESTOWN. 20-22 yrs old. factory worker. after losing her friend luke, annabeth went to hadestown and begged hades for his life, but he refused. annabeth decided to make a deal to take luke's place, and that was a bargain that was struck. now annabeth waits in hadestown, hoping that one day, her friends will come save her.

MARVEL. 18-20 yrs old. annabeth is a vigilante trying to save the world. her hyper intelligence and ability to turn herself invisible gave her the idea to become a hero and try to do something worthwhile, and moonlights as the vigilante known as pallas.

PIRATE. 21-24 yrs old. captain of the cursed blade. annabeth has been captain of her own ship since her teens, when she took over from her mentor, luke. her ship, the cursed blade, roams the seas taking down any rival pirate ship it can find. annabeth is a kind but disciplined captain with an even more disciplined crew, and is more respected than feared.... as long as they stay out of her way.

if asked what murray's life looked like as a kid, the chance that you'd guess correctly would be slim. murray's parents were free spirits, musicians that wanted life to be vibrant, fun, and fulfilling.
murray was the opposite. eccentric like his parents, but focused on the realities of how difficult his life would be. he focused on his studies, and went to college for a couple years before becoming a private investigator.

murray worked for many years for the chicago sun-times, but left when he realized how much the press hid. he didn't want to be part of that, so he left, and became a private investigator to pursue his own truths. it's through that where he met jim hopper, and his life changed with investigating the death of barbara holland.

joyce felt like her life was wasted potential. growing up in hawkins, she knew she would never leave. it just wasn't what people did. she graduated high school, married her high school boyfriend, and settled down. that was going to be her life. there wasn't going to be anything else to it.
until her first son was born. when jonathan came into this world, joyce felt like she was meant to be a mother, and everything that had kept her in hawkins was what it took to have her son. a few years later, joyce gave birth to her second son, will, and it was a moment where she'd never been happier. she had her boys, and that was all she needed.

but it wasn't perfect. lonnie was abusive, and their relationship had lost the charm it had held for joyce when she was a teenager. a few years after will was born, lonnie and joyce divorced. it broke her heart, but she knew it was the right choice-- not just for her, but for her sons.
the rest of her story follows the canon plot of the show, with will going missing and the byers being thrown into the world of the supernatural.

hades barely got a life before he was born. son of the titan kronos, hades' childhood was cut short when his father consumed him. hades and his siblings lived in darkness for the first years of their lives, until their brother zeus freed them. when the war to overthrow their father was done, hades was given dominion of the underworld.
it felt like an improvement to everything he'd ever known. hades started building something worth calling his own.but still, he craved the sky. it was during one of his trips up top that he met persephone. it was instant love for hades. when

he asks her to run away with him, she goes without hesitation.
the other gods wouldn't allow it. so they made a deal, that persephone would spend half of the year up top. but over time, the distance wore down their relationship. hades began to focus on other pursuits-- building the factories, putting the shades to work, creating the electric city. his estrangement from persephone pput a strain on the world. it wasn't until orpheus' arrival that things started changing. hades saw his flaws, and began to try to heal.

a song has always followed orpheus wherever he went. growing up listening to the music of mortals and the stories of the gods, orpheus found himself drawn to the space between mortal and divine. a half-god himself and the child of a muse, orpheus was meant to share music with the world.hermes began to teach him to play the lyre when he was still very young, and orpheus was immediately enchanted by it. he began to write his own songs based on the stories that hermes would tell him, and became well known for his melodies and songs.
